Storytelling for Change: Institute of Managers and Leaders Breakfast

Perth Leader Connect: Storytelling for Change

Wednesday 30 September 2026, 7:30am to 9:00am AWST
Chelsea Social Restaurant, 334 Murray St, Perth WA 6000

Dr Luella Forbes is speaking at the Institute of Managers and Leaders Perth Leader Connect breakfast on storytelling for change.

Most change programs are explained well and believed poorly. Leaders send the emails, run the town halls and build the slide decks, and people still go back to their desks unsure what any of it means for them. Story is what closes that gap. It is how leaders build trust, create clarity and give people a reason to move.

Organisations that invest in storytelling capability see proven increases in engagement, alignment and performance.

What you will take away

  • Why storytelling matters in leadership, particularly through periods of change

  • What actually makes a good story, and what makes one fall flat

  • A storytelling framework you can use again and again

  • The three stories every change leader needs to be able to tell

Who it is for

Managers and leaders in Perth who are leading their teams through restructures, mergers, system implementations or any significant change, and who want their communication to land.
